That's my new nickname at work, I guess.
Last week for our monthly potluck, I whipped up Paula's recipe for banana pudding. It's called Not Yo Mama's Banana Pudding, and it is stellar. I take no credit whatsoever, though. My pal Holly first turned me on to it a few years back. Yum.
It's technically not baking, but I do make the rare exception for some of Paula's treats. I wish she were my grandmother, although I would surely need a personal trainer and a sturdy supply of insulin if that were the case.
And I know what you're wondering. Why, yes. I do organize the potlucks at work. Please hold your applause. Hehe. Have a great week, blog friends!
*applause* these look super tasty, dude. Have a fab week yourself.
ReplyDeleteI just made banana pudding on Wednesday night, but that's not going to stop me from trying this recipe. I love Paula!
ReplyDeleteI love that you organize potlucks at work more than anything. This is my kind of baking too, the easier the better. This looks so yummy!
ReplyDeleteyummy.
ReplyDeleteWonderful choice of desserts Tom. One of my faves!!! Who would have thought something so easy could be so delish? Sure would love to see you. Miss you and love you.

Really tasty, Tommy. But tell me: What do you call the cookies you've put on top of your dessert? I've never seen them in America before; thought they were German. They're called "Spekulatius" over here.
ReplyDeleteI don't usually crave sweet stuff (bring on anything with cheese on it instead), but this looks so good.
XOXO

Thanks so much for the comments, everybody!
ReplyDeleteMichael, the cookies are Pepperidge Farm Chessman cookies. They're sort of this simply flavored shortbread that absorb that delicious cream filling. Then they get a teensy bit mushy on the bottom but stay crispy on top after the dessert chills.
Yum! I love that stuff.
ReplyDeleteAs you well know, Union City doesn't always have ingredients available. The past several times that I have made this, Wal-mart was out of Chessmen. I have been using Nabisco's Lorna Doone shortbread cookies instead. They make it delicious, too!
I make that all the time! So sweet, but isn't it good?
ReplyDeleteTommy, I make this recipe all the time... I love it! I think it's the healthiest thing Paula makes and it's not healthy!
