My Always List: Burt's Bees

Ahh...lips.  I'm hooked on lip balm, and there's no telling how many I've tried over the years.  Some were cheap; others were not.  Some were too shiny; others didn't last long enough.  One even made my lips more chapped.  WTH?
But Burt's Bees is my everyday go-to.  It's reasonably priced, goes on matte (what a concept!), and has that peppermint tingle going on.  Plus, I'm digging the brand's eco-factor.  I realize that this stuff is extremely popular, so I'm definitely not trying to reinvent the wheel.  This is just another of my staples for living.

Are you hooked on lip balm?  If so, what's your favorite?

  1. I'm right there with you. Burt's Bees! Only one problem. James can't stand the smell of it, so if I'm wearing it, he doesn't want to be near me. I know. He's crazy. ;) Instead, I just wear something less offensive when at home. At work or any other time we're apart, you better believe I'm using one the my three favorites: Burt's original, pomegranate or honey!

  2. I have a friend that works for Burt's Bees. She's my crack dealer. When I visit her, she loads me up with lip balms.

I recently tried a new balm called Hurraw! hurrawbalm.com (I love their excitement of including an exclamation point in their name.)

They are all natural and have fun flavors like grapefruit, root beer and one of my faves, licorice.

  3. Well as a lip goop junkie myself, I have many favorites. I do like the shine factor. Here are some favorites that are always in what Sis calls my "lip packet" that I carry in my purse.

    1) Mango lip butter from The Body Shop

    2) Kiehl's lip balm

    3) Buxom lips by Bare Escentuals (beware: This has major tingle to give you that Tammy Faye Baker lusciousness!)

  4. I'm totally boring: CVS brand cherry lip balm is my jam. It's cheap, works, and smells kinda gross in a way that I'm totally hooked on now. I used to use this raspberry flavored one from Blue Q's Dirty Girl line, but it got super-hard to find (and cost $5-6 a tube).

  6. Thanks for the comments, people! These are some great suggestions. I bought some Body Shop Lip Butter (in lemon and shea butter, respectively) last weekend and am enjoying it. I'm also saving my Kiehl's "empties" for a free lip balm. :D

  7. I'm pretty hooked on this balm too; I use the tinted version. I always end up going back to burt's bees because, like you said, its easy to find, at a great price point and is all natural!
